"I HAVE HELD MANY THINGS IN MY HANDS AND I HAVE LOST THEM ALL; BUT WHATEVER I HAVE PLACED IN GOD'S HANDS, THAT I STILL POSSESS."

Getting over someone who you're truly in love with is impossible.
It is.
There's no way around it. You can go months, thinking you're fine, and one thing can bring it all back. One thing. A movie ad, a car, a sweatshirt, a paper clip.
Our hearts link onto small things without us even realizing. We can't be mad at our hearts for this. It humbles us, it keeps us grounded. It reminds us that even the strongest of us can be brought down to our knees.
In the pit of our stomach is a horrible feeling. Like someone took our insides and stuck them in a blender. We want to sleep to escape it, but somehow it follows us in our dreams, and the feeling is waiting there when we wake up.
All you can do is learn to live your life, doing the things you've always done,
by yourself this time.
Everyone says to stay positive, but I think you've earned the right to break down once in a while. It's necessary, and it helps your heart know that you acknowledge it.
So even if you've been strong thus far, take a minute to be sad, because

It's okay.
